Automatic Safety Emergency Barricade
Abstract
Chemicals are pure substances or mixtures composed of various chemical elements. The chemicals processed by the company are ethanol, formalin, toluene, sulfuric acid, carbon monoxide. Some of these chemicals are very dangerous because they have a distinctive odor and are flammable. These materials are a liquid for strengthening clothing materials and clothing dyes. Therefore, there is a need for an innovation in chemical companies so that these chemicals do not pollute the environment and harm the workers. The innovation is the Automatic Safety Emergency Barricade which is a door barrier or barricade. This tool serves as a safety device so that when an accident occurs, the chemical overflows, this tool will close the work area so that the chemicals do not pollute the environment and endanger the workers. This tool is designed to use a microcontroller by utilizing a water level sensor to detect a liquid. In addition, this tool can be operated by pressing a pushbutton in case of an emergency or when the sensor does not work properly. The water level sensor used has a different resistance value based on the detected water level, the higher the water level, the lower the value. This tool takes about 40 seconds to close the barrier door (barricade) and to open it takes 36 seconds.
